Movement on stage differs to that of everyday life, even if it tries to be a faithful reproduction of it. Suddenly on stage we find we have too many hands, too many feet and far too many eyes, we feel as if we are constantly in the wrong place and in the wrong body.
Being aware of oneself and ones body on stage requires daily exercise, of training that is and through training, the actor (or the clown) finds a place where he can explore and study all the weird and wonderful possibilities open to him.
Movement is not an end, it is a means. The way one decides to perform any movement is the starting point to understanding oneself and others on stage.
